Account & Profile Settings

Your account settings let you manage your personal profile, change your password, choose a theme, and sign out of Rool. These settings follow you across every organization you belong to.

Accessing Your Account Settings

There are two ways to get to your account settings:

1. From the sidebar -- Click your name and avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open the user menu, then select Account.

2. From the Settings page -- Navigate to Settings > Account using the breadcrumb or settings sidebar.

Your Profile

The Profile section displays your avatar, name, and email address.

Updating Your Name

1. Open your Account settings.

2. Edit the First name and Last name fields.

3. Click Save changes.

You will see a confirmation message once your profile has been updated.

Uploading or Removing Your Avatar

Your avatar appears throughout Rool wherever your name is shown -- in the sidebar, on posts, in comments, and more.

To upload a new avatar:

1. Click Upload Avatar next to your current avatar (or initials).

2. Select an image file from your device.

   • Supported formats: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, or SVG

   • Maximum file size: 5 MB

3. Your new avatar appears automatically once the upload completes.

To remove your avatar:

• Click the Remove button next to your avatar. Your initials will be shown in place of the image.

Email Address

Your email address is displayed on the profile card but cannot be changed directly. If you need to update your email, contact support for assistance.

Changing Your Password

The Password section lets you update your account password.

1. Enter your Current password.

2. Enter a New password (minimum 8 characters).

3. Re-enter it in the Confirm new password field.

4. Click Change password.

You will see a confirmation message when the change is successful. If the passwords do not match or your current password is incorrect, an error message will explain what went wrong.

Choosing a Theme

Rool offers six visual themes so you can customize the look of the app.

1. Click your name and avatar at the bottom of the sidebar to open the user menu.

2. Hover over Theme to expand the theme picker.

3. Select one of the available themes:

A checkmark appears next to the currently active theme. Your selection is saved immediately and applies across all pages.

Signing Out

To sign out of Rool:

1. Click your name and avatar at the bottom of the sidebar.

2. Select Log out.

You will be returned to the sign-in page.
