Once you sign in to Rool, you land on your dashboard -- the central hub for managing your social media across all of your locations. This article walks you through the main areas of the interface so you can find your way around quickly.
The sidebar
The sidebar on the left side of the screen is your primary navigation. It stays visible as you move between different areas of the app, giving you one-click access to everything you need.
Here is what you will find in the sidebar, from top to bottom:
Organization switcher
At the very top of the sidebar, you will see your organization's name and logo. If you belong to more than one organization (for example, if you manage social media for multiple businesses), you can click here to open a dropdown and switch between them. Your role in each organization is shown next to its name.
If you only belong to one organization, this area simply displays your organization name without a dropdown.
Create Post button
Just below the organization switcher, there is a prominent Create Post button. Click it at any time to start drafting a new post. This button is always accessible no matter where you are in the app -- you never have to navigate away from what you're doing to start creating content.
Inbox
The Inbox is where you will find your notifications. It shows a badge with the number of unread items so you can see at a glance if anything needs your attention. Click the inbox to view all of your notifications in one place.
If you expand the Inbox section, you may see additional filters:
Approvals -- If you are an admin or editor with approval permissions, this filter shows only posts that are waiting for your review. A count next to the label tells you how many posts need your attention.
Requests
If your organization uses content requests, you will see a Requests section in the sidebar. This is where teams communicate about content needs. Expand it to access:
Sent -- Requests you have submitted to other teams
Received -- Requests that have been sent to you, with a badge showing how many are pending
You can also create new requests directly from this section using the + button.
Posting
The Posting section is where you manage all of your social media content. Expand it to find:
All Posts -- A complete list of every post across your organization
Calendar -- A calendar view of your scheduled and published posts, so you can see your content plan at a glance
Drafts -- Posts that are still being worked on and have not been scheduled or published yet
By Branch -- View posts grouped by individual branch, which is helpful when you want to see what content is going out from a specific location
Assets
The Assets section gives you access to your shared media files. Expand it to reach:
Media -- Your organization's asset library, where you can browse, upload, and organize images and videos
Branches
Below the Assets section, there is a standalone Branches link (this label may differ depending on how your organization has customized its terminology -- it might say "Locations," "Stores," "Clubs," or something else). Click it to see a full list of all your branches with their details and settings.
Branch quick-access list
Further down the sidebar, you will find a collapsible section that lists your branches by name. This is a shortcut for jumping directly to a specific branch without navigating through the full branches page.
Click the section header to expand or collapse the list
Use the search bar to quickly find a branch by name if you have many locations
Up to five branches are shown at a time; if you have more, a View all link appears at the bottom
Click any branch name to go to that branch's overview
Expand a branch using the arrow to access its sub-pages directly: Posts, Calendar, Library, and Settings
Branch filter
At the top of certain pages, you may see a branch filter dropdown. This lets you narrow your view to a single branch across the app. When a branch is selected:
The filter button highlights to indicate a filter is active
A "Viewing: [branch name]" badge appears as a reminder
Posts, assets, and other content are filtered to show only items related to that branch
To clear the filter, click the X on the badge or select "All Branches" from the dropdown. You can also search for a specific branch by typing in the filter's search field.
Your profile
At the bottom of the sidebar, you will find your user profile section showing your name, email, and role. Click here to access your account settings, preferences, or to sign out.
Collapsing the sidebar
If you need more screen space, the sidebar can be collapsed to show only icons. Hover over the thin rail on the right edge of the sidebar to expand it again. When collapsed, hovering over any icon shows a tooltip with the section name, so you can still navigate easily.
What to do next
Now that you know your way around the dashboard, here are some good next steps:
Check your Inbox to see if there are any notifications or pending approvals waiting for you
Create your first post using the Create Post button at the top of the sidebar
Explore your branches to see which locations are set up and which social profiles are connected
Browse the asset library to see what images and videos are available for your posts
